OUTREACH NEWS:
Teacher Institute on Climate Change
On June 23-25, CIS presented a three-day institute on biological and social aspects of climate change. The institute, organized in collaboration with the area centers, was designed for K-16 educators interested in bringing climate change issues into their curriculum. The institute featured presentations by scientists and policy experts with both topical and regional foci as well as panel discussions and small group activities.
The University of Chicago Sustainability Council features an article about the Institute, and the Climate Change Institute website remains available as a resource for participants and others working to develop climate change curriculum.
