Social Life of Forests Conference Makes News

The highly successful inaugural conference of the Program on the Global Environment has drawn attention both inside and outside the academy.

The University of Chicago Magazine published a feature article in its September/October issue on the Social Life of Forests conference and the complex and surprising research discoveries explored by the conference participants.

The Magazine article was picked up by Arts & Letters Daily, a "daily report of news in art and literature" maintained by the Chronicle of Higher Education.

The article was also featured on The Daily Beast, the website of former Vanity Fair and New Yorker editor Tina Brown. The Forests story was #6 on that site's October 12 "Cheat Sheet" of the most important and interesting recent news.
